New Shuffle sales far outpaced by other iPod models

If you take Amazon.com’s top selling lists as an accurate indicator of the market trends at large, then the top selling iPod list should interest you a great deal. As expected, 4 GB silver Nano takes the top spot, 80 GB black Classic comes in second, and 16 GB Touch takes third. The reasons are clear enough:
- 3G Nano is totally revamped, looks very attractive, and offers the lowest priced iPod with a screen - 80 GB Classic is just an outstanding value for the price - 16 GB Touch is a slick, new, and groundbreaking device |
But where do the color refreshed Shuffles rank? In the top 25, Purple and Silver Shuffles come in at eight and ninth places while blue and green models make it into thirteenth and fifteenth respectively. Lower priced Shuffles would have sold a whole lot better had they been totally refreshed, however, consumers do have a limited budget to spend on media players and so this is not the time to take away sales from other iPod models.
